The Gawker Media Editorial Team condemns the takedown of the controversial article. Prepare for the shit to hit the fan.

A Jez rep said some of them had “concerns” about the original article, but nonetheless think the act of removal itself was wrong. Not posting it. Jezebel had a real opportunity to stand for something, and instead they stood for themselves.

Yeah. I have a feeling that everything's about to go haywire.

I see multiple managing editors have said the same stupid thing. Multiple writers objected to the piece, but they object more to it being taken down.
This is a crazy stance to take, and they will catch hell for it from readers.
Thankfully, Jalopnik has avoided the entire thing like a plague. It would have been nice if they denounced it from the start, but at this point, distance is the only band aid.

Either way, between this and the Hogangate, Gawker is a sinking ship.

I have mixed feelings about outright silence, but yes, Jalopnik’s business is posting stuff about cars, whereas Jez, champion of sexual/gender/orientation rights, should be expected to protest to the article, but did not.

Capitalizing “Gawker Media Editorial Team” doesn’t make it a real thing

Or at the very least, soon to be a ship in deep legal debt.
